1/31/2024, 12:30 PM
Summary of Bill HR 4161
Bill 118 hr 4161, also known as the Pre-Pilot Pathway Act, is a piece of legislation currently being considered by the US Congress. The purpose of this bill is to establish a pathway for individuals who are interested in becoming commercial airline pilots to gain the necessary experience and qualifications before entering a formal pilot training program.
The bill outlines a pre-pilot program that would allow individuals to gain experience flying as co-pilots on commercial flights under the supervision of a qualified pilot. This program would provide participants with valuable hands-on experience and training, helping them to build the skills and knowledge needed to pursue a career as a commercial airline pilot.
In addition to outlining the structure of the pre-pilot program, the bill also includes provisions for oversight and evaluation to ensure that participants are receiving adequate training and support. The goal of the Pre-Pilot Pathway Act is to increase access to the commercial airline pilot profession for individuals who may not have had the opportunity to pursue traditional pilot training programs. Overall, the Pre-Pilot Pathway Act aims to address the growing demand for commercial airline pilots by providing a new pathway for individuals to enter the profession. By offering a structured program that combines hands-on experience with formal training, this bill seeks to expand opportunities for aspiring pilots and help meet the needs of the aviation industry.
