Bill 118 hr 3633, also known as the PREVENT HPV Cancers Act of 2023, aims to address the growing issue of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) related cancers in the United States. HPV is a common sexually transmitted infection that can lead to various types of cancers, including cervical, anal, and oropharyngeal cancer.
The bill focuses on prevention and education efforts to reduce the incidence of HPV-related cancers. It includes provisions for increasing public awareness about the risks of HPV, promoting vaccination against the virus, and improving access to screening and treatment services for those at risk.

This includes supporting studies on the effectiveness of HPV vaccines, as well as exploring new ways to detect and treat HPV infections before they progress to cancer. Overall, the PREVENT HPV Cancers Act of 2023 seeks to combat the rising rates of HPV-related cancers in the US through a comprehensive approach that includes education, prevention, and research initiatives. By addressing the root causes of these cancers and promoting early detection and treatment, the bill aims to reduce the burden of HPV-related cancers on individuals and the healthcare system as a whole.
