Summary of Bill HR 2857
Bill 118 hr 2857, also known as the Measuring State Healthcare Freedom Act, is a piece of legislation introduced in the US Congress. The main purpose of this bill is to measure and evaluate the level of healthcare freedom in each state.
The bill requires the Department of Health and Human Services to create a Healthcare Freedom Index, which will assess the extent to which states protect individual healthcare choices and freedoms. This index will take into account factors such as state laws and regulations related to healthcare, insurance coverage options, and access to healthcare providers.
The goal of the Measuring State Healthcare Freedom Act is to provide transparency and accountability in the healthcare system by allowing policymakers and the public to see how each state is performing in terms of protecting healthcare freedoms. This information can then be used to identify areas for improvement and to promote policies that support individual healthcare choices. Overall, this bill aims to promote healthcare freedom and empower individuals to make informed decisions about their healthcare. It is an important step towards ensuring that all Americans have access to quality healthcare options that align with their personal preferences and values.
