Summary of Bill HR 2713

Bill 118 hr 2713, also known as the I CAN Act, is a piece of legislation introduced in the US Congress with the goal of promoting financial literacy and education among young people. The bill aims to provide resources and support for schools to teach students about important financial topics such as budgeting, saving, investing, and managing debt.

The I CAN Act proposes the creation of a grant program that would allocate funding to schools that implement financial literacy programs. These programs would be designed to help students develop the skills and knowledge necessary to make informed financial decisions throughout their lives. The bill also calls for the development of standardized assessments to measure students' financial literacy levels and track their progress over time.

Additionally, the I CAN Act includes provisions for teacher training and professional development in the area of financial education. This would ensure that educators have the tools and resources they need to effectively teach financial literacy to their students. Overall, the I CAN Act seeks to address the lack of financial education in schools and empower young people to take control of their financial futures. By equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed to make sound financial decisions, the bill aims to promote financial stability and success for future generations.
