Summary of Bill HR 2629

The Filer Voter Act, also known as Bill 118 hr 2629, is a piece of legislation currently being considered by the US Congress. The main goal of this bill is to increase voter registration and participation by making it easier for individuals to register to vote.

One of the key provisions of the Filer Voter Act is the implementation of automatic voter registration. This means that eligible individuals would be automatically registered to vote when they interact with certain government agencies, such as the Department of Motor Vehicles or public assistance offices. This would help to streamline the voter registration process and ensure that more people are able to participate in elections.

Additionally, the Filer Voter Act includes provisions to expand access to early voting and absentee voting. This would give voters more flexibility in how and when they cast their ballots, making it easier for individuals with busy schedules or other commitments to participate in the electoral process. Overall, the Filer Voter Act aims to remove barriers to voter registration and make it easier for all eligible individuals to exercise their right to vote. By increasing voter participation, this legislation seeks to strengthen democracy and ensure that the voices of all Americans are heard in the political process.
