Summary of Bill HR 1775

The Audit Unnecessary and Duplicative Investigations in Congress (AUDIT) Act, also known as Bill 118 hr 1775, is a piece of legislation introduced in the US Congress. The purpose of this bill is to address concerns about the duplication of efforts and resources in congressional investigations.

The AUDIT Act aims to streamline the process of conducting investigations by requiring congressional committees to coordinate and share information with each other. This would help prevent multiple committees from conducting separate investigations on the same issue, which can lead to inefficiencies and wasted resources.

Additionally, the bill includes provisions to improve transparency and accountability in congressional investigations. It requires committees to publicly disclose the scope and purpose of their investigations, as well as any findings or recommendations that result from their inquiries. Overall, the AUDIT Act seeks to promote more efficient and effective congressional investigations by reducing duplication and improving coordination among committees. It is intended to ensure that taxpayer dollars are being used wisely and that congressional investigations are conducted in a transparent and accountable manner.
