Summary of Bill HR 1634
The HELLPP Act, also known as Bill 118 hr 1634, is a piece of legislation currently being considered by the US Congress. The purpose of this bill is to provide support and resources for individuals who are experiencing mental health crises.
The HELLPP Act aims to establish a national hotline for individuals in need of immediate mental health assistance. This hotline would be available 24/7 and staffed by trained professionals who can provide support, resources, and referrals to those in crisis.
Additionally, the bill seeks to increase funding for mental health services and programs at the state and local levels. This funding would be used to expand access to mental health care, improve the quality of services, and reduce barriers to treatment for individuals in need. Furthermore, the HELLPP Act includes provisions to improve mental health education and awareness, particularly in schools and communities. By increasing understanding and reducing stigma surrounding mental health issues, the bill aims to promote early intervention and prevention of mental health crises. Overall, the HELLPP Act is a comprehensive piece of legislation that seeks to address the growing need for mental health support in the United States. If passed, this bill has the potential to improve access to care, reduce stigma, and ultimately save lives.
