Second Generation Biofuel Producer Credit Extension Act of 2024
11/14/2024, 5:17 PM
Summary of Bill HR 10104
Bill 118 hr 10104 aims to make changes to the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 in order to address a potential issue with second generation biofuels receiving double benefits under the clean fuel production credit and the alcohol fuels credit. The bill seeks to prevent this double benefit from occurring and also extends the application of the alcohol fuels credit to include these second generation biofuels.
The clean fuel production credit and the alcohol fuels credit are both incentives designed to promote the production and use of cleaner, more sustainable fuels. However, there is a concern that second generation biofuels may be able to take advantage of both credits, leading to a double benefit that was not intended by the original legislation.
By amending the Internal Revenue Code, this bill aims to clarify the rules surrounding these credits and ensure that second generation biofuels are only able to receive one benefit, rather than both. Additionally, by extending the application of the alcohol fuels credit to include these biofuels, the bill seeks to further incentivize the production and use of these cleaner fuels. Overall, Bill 118 hr 10104 is a targeted piece of legislation that seeks to address a specific issue related to biofuel incentives in order to promote the development and use of cleaner, more sustainable fuels in the United States.

This bill is just another way for the government to waste our hard-earned money. It's sad to see them prioritize biofuel producers over the needs of everyday Americans. I don't see how this is going to benefit me or anyone I know. It's frustrating to see our tax dollars being used in such a way.

I don't like this new bill. It's gonna make things harder for me and my family. I don't think it's fair.
