Farmers Deserve Notification Act
12/29/2022, 12:48 PM
Summary of Bill HR 9035
Bill 117 HR 9035, also known as the Farmers Deserve Notification Act, is a piece of legislation currently being considered by the US Congress. The purpose of this bill is to require the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to notify farmers and ranchers before conducting aerial surveillance on their land.
The bill aims to protect the privacy and property rights of farmers and ranchers by ensuring that they are informed in advance of any aerial surveillance activities conducted by the EPA. This notification requirement is intended to give farmers and ranchers the opportunity to prepare for and respond to any potential investigations or enforcement actions by the EPA.
Supporters of the bill argue that it is necessary to prevent unnecessary intrusion on the property rights of farmers and ranchers, and to ensure that they are treated fairly and respectfully by government agencies. Opponents of the bill, however, raise concerns about the potential impact on the EPA's ability to enforce environmental regulations and protect public health and safety. Overall, the Farmers Deserve Notification Act is a controversial piece of legislation that raises important questions about the balance between privacy rights and regulatory enforcement. It remains to be seen how the bill will be received by Congress and whether it will ultimately be passed into law.
