The bill seeks to address concerns about the potential national security risks posed by the transfer of sensitive technology to the PLA.

Additionally, the bill proposes measures to strengthen export controls and licensing requirements for technology transfers to China. It aims to enhance coordination between government agencies, such as the Department of Defense and the Department of Commerce, to better track and prevent the transfer of sensitive technology to the PLA. Overall, the Preventing PLA Acquisition of United States Technology Act of 2022 is designed to safeguard US national security interests by limiting the ability of the PLA to acquire advanced technology from the United States. The bill reflects ongoing concerns about the potential risks associated with technology transfers to China and seeks to address these concerns through increased oversight and regulation.
