Summary of Bill HR 8464
Bill 117 hr 8464, also known as the "Duplicative Functions Study Act," is a piece of legislation that aims to address inefficiencies within the executive branch of the Federal government. The bill requires certain agencies to conduct a study on duplicative functions, with the goal of identifying areas where resources are being wasted due to redundant or overlapping responsibilities.
The bill does not specify which agencies will be required to participate in the study, but it does outline the criteria that will be used to determine which functions are considered duplicative. These criteria include looking at the mission, goals, and activities of each agency, as well as assessing the impact of duplicative functions on the effectiveness and efficiency of government operations.
In addition to conducting the study, the bill also requires agencies to develop a plan for addressing any identified duplicative functions. This plan must include recommendations for streamlining operations, eliminating redundancies, and improving overall efficiency. Overall, the Duplicative Functions Study Act is aimed at promoting greater accountability and effectiveness within the executive branch of the Federal government by identifying and addressing areas where resources are being wasted. It is a non-partisan effort to improve government operations and ensure that taxpayer dollars are being used efficiently.
