Summary of Bill HR 7952
Bill 117 HR 7952, also known as the Valley Forge Park Realignment Permit and Promise Act, is a piece of legislation introduced in the US Congress. The purpose of this bill is to authorize the Secretary of the Interior to realign a portion of the boundary of Valley Forge National Historical Park in Pennsylvania.
The bill aims to allow for the realignment of the park boundary in order to accommodate the construction of a new highway or road. This realignment would require the Secretary of the Interior to issue a permit for the construction of the new road, as well as to make a promise to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania that the realignment will not adversely affect the park's resources or values.
The bill includes provisions for public consultation and input in the realignment process, as well as requirements for the Secretary of the Interior to monitor and report on the impacts of the realignment on the park. Additionally, the bill includes provisions for the protection of the park's resources and values during and after the construction of the new road. Overall, the Valley Forge Park Realignment Permit and Promise Act seeks to balance the need for infrastructure development with the preservation of the historical and natural resources of Valley Forge National Historical Park.
