Summary of Bill HR 7357
One of the key provisions of the REACT Act is the establishment of a new task force within the Department of Justice dedicated to combating online child sexual exploitation. This task force would be responsible for coordinating efforts between federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to identify and apprehend individuals who are involved in the production and distribution of child pornography.
Additionally, the REACT Act includes measures to increase penalties for individuals convicted of online child sexual exploitation offenses. This includes mandatory minimum sentences for certain offenses, as well as increased fines and restitution for victims. Overall, the REACT Act is aimed at strengthening the tools and resources available to law enforcement agencies in their efforts to combat online child sexual exploitation and abuse. By providing additional support and resources to those on the front lines of this fight, the bill seeks to protect vulnerable children and hold perpetrators accountable for their actions.
