Encouraging schools to prioritize the use of restorative practices over traditional disciplinary measures, such as suspension and expulsion. 3. Establishing guidelines for schools to follow when implementing restorative practices, including ensuring that all students have access to these programs and that they are culturally responsive. 4. Requiring schools to collect data on the use and effectiveness of restorative practices, in order to track progress and make improvements as needed. Overall, the Restorative Practices in Schools Act of 2022 seeks to create a more positive and inclusive school environment, where students are supported in resolving conflicts and building healthy relationships. By prioritizing restorative practices, the bill aims to reduce disciplinary disparities and improve overall student well-being and academic success.
