Summary of Bill HR 6231

Bill 117 HR 6231, also known as the Veterans Pro Bono Corps Act of 2021, is a piece of legislation introduced in the US Congress. The purpose of this bill is to establish a program within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) that would provide pro bono legal services to veterans who are in need of assistance with legal matters.

The bill aims to create a Veterans Pro Bono Corps, which would consist of volunteer attorneys who would offer their services free of charge to veterans. These attorneys would be tasked with helping veterans with a variety of legal issues, such as accessing benefits, navigating the VA system, and resolving disputes.

The Veterans Pro Bono Corps Act of 2021 also seeks to establish a grant program to support organizations that provide pro bono legal services to veterans. These grants would help fund the efforts of these organizations and ensure that more veterans have access to the legal assistance they need. Overall, the goal of Bill 117 HR 6231 is to ensure that veterans have access to the legal help they need in order to navigate the complexities of the legal system and access the benefits and services they are entitled to. By establishing a Veterans Pro Bono Corps and providing grants to support pro bono legal services for veterans, this bill aims to improve the lives of those who have served our country.
