Summary of Bill HR 4891
Bill 117 HR 4891, also known as the Net-Negative Carbon Dioxide Baseload Power Act, is a piece of legislation introduced in the US Congress. The main goal of this bill is to promote the development and implementation of technologies that can generate baseload power while also removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
The bill focuses on incentivizing the creation of power plants that not only produce electricity but also have the capability to capture and store carbon dioxide emissions. This is seen as a crucial step in combating climate change and reducing the overall carbon footprint of the energy sector.
Additionally, the Net-Negative Carbon Dioxide Baseload Power Act aims to provide funding and support for research and development of these technologies, as well as establishing guidelines and regulations for their implementation. The bill also includes provisions for monitoring and reporting on the progress of these initiatives. Overall, the Net-Negative Carbon Dioxide Baseload Power Act is a forward-thinking piece of legislation that seeks to address the urgent need for cleaner and more sustainable energy sources. By promoting the development of carbon-negative power plants, this bill has the potential to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and mitigate the impacts of climate change.
