Summary of Bill HR 4269
Bill 117 HR 4269, also known as the Dairy Pricing and Policy Commission Act of 2021, was introduced in the US Congress with the aim of establishing a commission to review and make recommendations on federal dairy pricing and policy. The bill seeks to address the challenges facing the dairy industry, including fluctuating milk prices, changing consumer preferences, and increasing competition from alternative milk products.
If passed, the bill would create a Dairy Pricing and Policy Commission composed of experts in the dairy industry, economics, and public policy. The commission would be tasked with conducting a comprehensive review of current federal dairy pricing and policy mechanisms, as well as examining the impact of these policies on dairy farmers, processors, and consumers.
The commission would also be responsible for making recommendations to Congress on potential reforms to federal dairy pricing and policy, with the goal of promoting a more stable and sustainable dairy industry. The bill emphasizes the importance of ensuring fair and transparent pricing mechanisms for dairy products, as well as supporting the long-term viability of dairy farms across the country. Overall, the Dairy Pricing and Policy Commission Act of 2021 aims to address the challenges facing the dairy industry and promote a more efficient and equitable dairy pricing and policy framework. The bill reflects ongoing efforts to support American dairy farmers and ensure a reliable and affordable supply of dairy products for consumers.
