1/11/2023, 1:47 PM
Summary of Bill HR 1067
The Standard Fees Act, also known as Bill 117 HR 1067, is a piece of legislation currently being considered by the US Congress. The purpose of this bill is to establish a standard fee schedule for federal agencies when they are providing services to the public.
The bill aims to streamline the fee-setting process and ensure that fees are fair and consistent across different agencies. This would help to reduce confusion and make it easier for individuals and businesses to understand and budget for the costs associated with government services.
Additionally, the Standard Fees Act would require federal agencies to periodically review and update their fee schedules to ensure that they remain current and reflect the true cost of providing services. This would help to prevent fees from becoming outdated or disproportionately burdensome on certain groups of people. Overall, the Standard Fees Act is intended to promote transparency, efficiency, and fairness in the way that federal agencies charge fees for their services. It is currently being debated in Congress, and its ultimate fate will depend on the outcome of the legislative process.
