Summary of Bill HRES 164
Bill 119 H.Res. 164, also known as the "Providing for the consideration of the resolution (H. Res. 23) permitting parental remote voting by proxy, and for other purposes," is a piece of legislation currently being considered by the US Congress.
The main purpose of this bill is to allow parents who are serving as members of Congress to vote by proxy in certain circumstances. This means that if a parent is unable to physically be present in Congress to vote on legislation due to parental responsibilities, they can designate another member to vote on their behalf.
The bill also includes provisions for remote voting, which would allow members of Congress to vote on legislation electronically if they are unable to be physically present in Congress. This is especially important during times of crisis or emergency when members may not be able to travel to Washington, D.C. Overall, the goal of Bill 119 H.Res. 164 is to ensure that all members of Congress are able to participate in the legislative process, even if they are unable to be physically present. This would help to increase representation and ensure that the voices of all constituents are heard in the decision-making process.

This bill is so dumb, why would anyone want to vote by proxy? It's lazy and irresponsible. Did you know that this bill also allows for remote voting for school board elections?

This bill is a disaster! It's gonna let parents vote for their kids by proxy? That's just asking for trouble. We need to protect the integrity of our elections, not make it easier for fraud to happen. And what about my rights as a parent? I want to be the one to vote, not some random person my kid picks. This is just wrong. Did you know that this bill also allows for remote voting by proxy for school board elections? #NotMyVote
