2/6/2025, 4:51 PM

Summary of Bill HR 268

Bill 119 hr 268, also known as the "Increase Reward for Nicolás Maduro Moros Act," aims to raise the maximum reward amount for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of Nicolás Maduro Moros to $100,000,000. This reward will be paid out by the Federal Government using assets that are currently being withheld from Nicolás Maduro Moros, officials of the Maduro regime, and their co-conspirators.

The bill is designed to incentivize individuals to come forward with valuable information that could lead to the capture and prosecution of Nicolás Maduro Moros, who is the current President of Venezuela. The increased reward amount is intended to encourage more people to provide crucial details that could help bring Maduro and his associates to justice for any alleged crimes they may have committed.

By utilizing assets that have been seized from Maduro and his inner circle, the Federal Government aims to ensure that the reward money does not come from taxpayer funds. Instead, it will be funded through the assets that have been confiscated as part of efforts to hold Maduro and his regime accountable for any wrongdoing. Overall, the Increase Reward for Nicolás Maduro Moros Act seeks to enhance efforts to combat corruption and human rights abuses in Venezuela by offering a substantial financial incentive for individuals to assist in the apprehension and conviction of Maduro and his associates.
