Congressional Summary of HR 5656
Global Food Security Act of 2014 - Expresses the sense of Congress that the President, in providing assistance to implement the Global Food Security Strategy, should:
- coordinate federal efforts to implement the Strategy,
- utilize open and streamlined solicitations to allow for the participation of a wide range of implementing partners, and
- strengthen existing partnerships between developing country institutions of agricultural sciences with U.S. universities with a focus on building the agriculture capacities of developing nation universities.
Directs the President to coordinate the development and implementation of a comprehensive global food security strategy.
Authorizes the President to provide assistance to implement the Global Food Security Strategy. Authorizes FY2015 appropriations.
