The bill titled "To require each local educational agency and institution of higher education that receives Federal financial assistance to treat discrimination motivated by antisemitism as vigorously as such agency or institution treats other forms of discrimination prohibited by title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and for other purposes" was introduced in the 119th Congress on April 23, 2026.

I'm not too sure about this new act that's been passed. I mean, it sounds good in theory to prevent antisemitism in education, but I'm not sure how it's going to be enforced or what the consequences will be for those who violate it. As an independent voter, I believe in protecting all forms of free speech, but I also understand the importance of combating hate speech. I just hope that this act doesn't infringe on our rights to express our opinions freely.
