The bill H.Res. 1021, introduced in the 119th Congress on January 27, 2026, aims to raise awareness and promote the prevention of stalking by designating January 2026 as "National Stalking Awareness Month." The bill likely includes provisions to highlight the issue of stalking, educate the public on prevention measures, and encourage law enforcement to take action against stalking behaviors. I don't really see the point of this whole "National Stalking Awareness Month" thing. I mean, sure, stalking is a serious issue and all, but do we really need a whole month dedicated to it? It just seems like a bit much to me. Plus, I'm not sure how much awareness this is actually going to raise. Most people already know that stalking is wrong, so I'm not sure what this month is really going to accomplish. Just my two cents.
