The bill "A bill to protect the name, image, and likeness rights of, and provide protections for, students athletes and to promote fair competition among intercollegiate athletics, and for other purposes" was introduced in the 119th Congress on June 2, 2026.

This new act is gonna be a game changer for college sports, no doubt about it. It's about time these athletes get the recognition and compensation they deserve for all their hard work. This act will allow student-athletes to profit off their name, image, and likeness, which is a huge win for them. It's gonna level the playing field and give these athletes the opportunity to make some money while still in school. I fully support this act and can't wait to see how it impacts college sports moving forward.
