Respect for Local Communities Act

H.R. 7652 of the 119th Congress, introduced on February 23, 2026, aims to prohibit the Department of Homeland Security from building, obtaining, upgrading, or managing any new processing site or detention center without implementing a process for public feedback on these actions, creating written agreements with relevant State and local authorities, and notifying Congress in advance of such undertakings.
