The bill titled "A joint resolution to direct the removal of United States Armed Forces from hostilities within or against the Islamic Republic of Iran that have not been authorized by Congress," introduced in the 119th Congress as Senate Joint Resolution 163 on April 13, 2026, aims to mandate the withdrawal of U.S. military forces engaged in unauthorized hostilities involving or directed at Iran, emphasizing congressional approval as a necessary prerequisite for such military actions.

I don't understand why some people are against this resolution. It is clear that the Constitution gives Congress the power to declare war, not the President. This resolution is simply reaffirming that principle and ensuring that our military actions are in line with the law. Who benefits from this resolution not being followed?
