I find it quite ridiculous that this resolution is being passed to commend and congratulate the UCLA Bruins women's basketball team for winning the championship. While I have nothing against the team or their accomplishment, I fail to see how this resolution is necessary in the grand scheme of things. It seems like a waste of time and resources to focus on something so trivial when there are much more pressing issues that need to be addressed in our country. This resolution will have no real impact on my life or the lives of most Americans, so why bother with it? It's just a distraction from the real issues at hand.

The short term affects of this resolution are minimal at best, and it does nothing to address the important issues facing our nation.
