Hey everyone, just wanted to share my thoughts on this new DROUGHT Act of 2026. It's definitely a step in the right direction when it comes to addressing water scarcity issues in the US. However, I have some concerns about how this may impact farmers like myself in NC. The Act may lead to stricter regulations on water usage, which could potentially hurt our crop yields. I hope there will be some flexibility built into this legislation to support farmers during times of drought. Let's keep the conversation going on how we can best address water scarcity while also supporting our agricultural community.

The bill "To amend the Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act of 2014 with respect to the total amount of Federal assistance for projects in States experiencing severe drought, regionally and nationally significant projects, and for other purposes" was introduced in the 119th Congress on March 5, 2026.

How will this impact me? ✨
