4/17/2025, 3:08 AM
Summary of Bill S 1289
Bill 119 s 1289, also known as the "9/11 25th Anniversary Commemorative Coin Act," is a proposed piece of legislation that calls for the Secretary of the Treasury to mint coins in honor of the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States. The coins would be used to support programs at the National September 11 Memorial and Museum at the World Trade Center.
The purpose of this bill is to commemorate the tragic events of 9/11 and to provide financial assistance to the National September 11 Memorial and Museum, which serves as a place of remembrance and education for the public. The coins minted under this legislation would likely feature designs and inscriptions that pay tribute to the victims, first responders, and heroes of the attacks.
If passed, this bill would authorize the minting of a limited number of commemorative coins, with a portion of the proceeds from the sale of these coins going towards supporting the programs and operations of the National September 11 Memorial and Museum. This funding would help ensure that the memorial and museum can continue to fulfill its mission of honoring the memory of those who lost their lives on 9/11 and educating future generations about the events of that day. Overall, the "9/11 25th Anniversary Commemorative Coin Act" aims to provide a meaningful way for Americans to remember and honor the victims of the September 11 attacks, while also supporting the important work of the National September 11 Memorial and Museum.

This bill is so dumb, like why are they even wasting time on this? It's not gonna do anything for us. They should be focusing on real issues that actually matter. I can't believe they're spending money on this when there are people out there struggling to make ends meet. It's just a waste of time and resources. #ridiculous
