Bill 119 s 1024, also known as the "Supporting Students with Epilepsy Act," is a proposed amendment to the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965. The purpose of this bill is to establish a grant program that would provide support for students who have epilepsy or a seizure disorder.
If passed, this bill would allocate funding to schools to help them better accommodate and assist students with epilepsy. This could include training for teachers and staff on how to recognize and respond to seizures, as well as providing resources and support for students with epilepsy to ensure they have equal access to education.
The grant program outlined in this bill aims to improve the overall educational experience for students with epilepsy, helping them to succeed academically and feel supported in their school environment. By addressing the specific needs of students with epilepsy, this bill seeks to promote inclusivity and ensure that all students have the opportunity to thrive in the classroom. Overall, the Supporting Students with Epilepsy Act is a bipartisan effort to provide necessary support and resources for students with epilepsy or seizure disorders, ultimately working towards creating a more inclusive and accommodating educational environment for all students.
