I think this bill is a good idea because it gives the people of D.C. a voice in our government. They deserve to have representation just like everyone else. It's important to recognize their disenfranchisement and work towards giving them the same rights as other states. Statehood for D.C. would be a positive step towards equality and fairness in our country. I support the designation of May 1, 2026, as "D.C. Statehood Day" because it would be a historic moment for the residents of D.C. and a celebration of their long overdue recognition. Did you know that D.C. has a larger population than two states? It's time for them to have the same rights and representation as everyone else.
