I am deeply saddened by the current state of our healthcare system, especially when it comes to the outrageous costs of prescription drugs. This bill, which requires out-of-pocket expenditures for drugs to count towards an individual's deductible and out-of-pocket maximum, is a step in the right direction. As a 74 year old from AR, I have personally felt the burden of high drug costs, and this bill could provide some much-needed relief for me and others in similar situations. It is time for our government to prioritize the well-being of its citizens over profits for big pharmaceutical companies. Who benefits from this bill? The American people do.
