Summary of Bill HR 506

Bill 119 hr 506, also known as the "Assessment for Foreign Terrorist Organization Designations Act," is a piece of legislation introduced in the US Congress. The main purpose of this bill is to require assessments for Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) designations. This means that before designating an organization as an FTO, the government would be required to conduct a thorough assessment to determine if the organization meets the criteria for such a designation.

In addition to the assessment requirement, the bill also authorizes certain appropriations for Operation Stonegarden. Operation Stonegarden is a program that provides funding to state and local law enforcement agencies to enhance border security efforts. The bill specifies that these appropriations would be authorized for certain fiscal years, although the exact amounts are not specified in the summary.

Overall, the bill aims to strengthen national security efforts by ensuring that FTO designations are based on thorough assessments and by providing funding for border security operations. It is important to note that the bill may have additional provisions and details that are not covered in this summary.
