Supporters of the bill argue that it is a necessary step to address historical injustices and support the sovereignty and self-determination of the Pit River Tribe. They believe that transferring the land into trust will help the tribe to better protect and manage their natural resources, as well as promote economic growth and community well-being. Opponents of the bill may raise concerns about the potential impact on local communities, land use regulations, and environmental conservation efforts. They may also question the need for the federal government to transfer land into trust for a specific tribe. Overall, Bill 119 hr 2400 represents an important opportunity for the Pit River Tribe to strengthen their tribal lands and resources.
