Summary of Bill HR 2109

Bill 119 HR 2109, also known as the "Cybersecurity Technical Assistance in National Rural Water and Wastewater Circuit Rider Program Act," aims to enhance cybersecurity measures in rural water and wastewater systems across the United States. The bill proposes to include cybersecurity technical assistance as part of the services provided by the Department of Agriculture's National Rural Water and Wastewater Circuit Rider Program.

The National Rural Water and Wastewater Circuit Rider Program currently provides technical assistance to rural communities to help them maintain and improve their water and wastewater systems. By adding cybersecurity technical assistance to this program, the bill seeks to address the growing threat of cyber attacks on critical infrastructure, such as water and wastewater systems.

The inclusion of cybersecurity technical assistance in the program will help rural communities better protect their systems from cyber threats, such as hacking and data breaches. This is especially important as more and more water and wastewater systems are becoming connected to the internet, making them vulnerable to cyber attacks. Overall, Bill 119 HR 2109 aims to strengthen the cybersecurity of rural water and wastewater systems by providing technical assistance through the National Rural Water and Wastewater Circuit Rider Program. This will help ensure the safety and security of these essential services for rural communities across the country.
