Defending our Dams Act
9/15/2025, 3:56 PM
Summary of Bill HR 2073
Bill 119 hr 2073, also known as the Lower Snake River Dams Protection Act, aims to prevent the use of Federal funds for any activities related to breaching or altering the Lower Snake River dams. These dams, located in the Pacific Northwest, have been a topic of debate for many years due to their impact on the environment and endangered salmon populations.
The bill specifically prohibits the use of Federal funds for any studies, projects, or actions that would lead to the removal or modification of the dams. Supporters of the bill argue that the dams are crucial for navigation, irrigation, and hydropower generation in the region, and that removing them would have negative economic consequences.
Opponents of the bill, on the other hand, argue that the dams have had a detrimental impact on salmon populations and the overall ecosystem of the Snake River. They believe that removing the dams is necessary to restore the natural habitat and protect endangered species. Overall, the Lower Snake River Dams Protection Act is a contentious piece of legislation that highlights the ongoing debate over the balance between economic development and environmental conservation. It will be interesting to see how this bill progresses through Congress and what impact it may have on the future of the Lower Snake River dams.

I can't believe this bill is trying to take away our rights to protect our dams! It's outrageous that they think they can control what we do with our own property. This bill is a threat to our freedom and must be stopped. Only the government benefits from this bill, not the American people.
