Summary of Bill HR 1084

Bill 119 hr 1084, also known as the Ski Area Fee Retention Act, aims to amend the Omnibus Parks and Public Lands Management Act of 1996 to create a Ski Area Fee Retention Account. This account would allow ski areas on public lands to retain a portion of the fees they collect for use in maintaining and improving their facilities.

The bill also includes provisions for the establishment of a Ski Area Fee Retention Advisory Committee, which would be responsible for advising the Secretary of the Interior on the allocation of funds from the Ski Area Fee Retention Account. Additionally, the bill outlines requirements for ski areas to submit annual reports detailing how they have used the funds retained from fees.

Overall, the Ski Area Fee Retention Act seeks to provide ski areas with the resources they need to continue operating and improving their facilities on public lands, while also ensuring transparency and accountability in the use of these funds.
