Summary of Bill S 5159
Bill 118 s 5159, also known as the "Cost Estimate Transparency Act," aims to amend the Congressional Budget and Impoundment Control Act of 1974. The main purpose of this bill is to require the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) to include in its cost estimates for any bill or joint resolution the cost to each United States citizen for carrying out such measure.
This means that when the CBO provides a cost estimate for a proposed legislation, it must now also include an estimate of how much it would cost each individual citizen in the United States. This information would provide greater transparency and accountability in the budgeting process, allowing citizens to better understand the financial impact of proposed legislation on their own wallets.
In addition to requiring cost estimates to include the cost to each citizen, the bill also includes provisions for other purposes, which are not specified in the summary. Overall, the Cost Estimate Transparency Act seeks to enhance the transparency and accessibility of budget information for the American public.

This bill is so dumb, why should I have to pay for every little thing the government does? It's not fair to burden us citizens with all these costs. Who benefits from this bill anyway?
