Bill 118 s 395, also known as the Clean Slate for Kids Online Act of 2023, is a piece of legislation currently being considered by the US Congress. The main goal of this bill is to protect the online privacy and digital footprint of children under the age of 16.
The bill proposes several key provisions to achieve this goal. This is intended to prevent companies from exploiting children's data for profit and to protect their privacy online. Furthermore, the bill includes measures to increase transparency and accountability for online platforms when it comes to collecting and using children's data. It requires platforms to provide clear and easily accessible information about their data practices, as well as to establish mechanisms for parents and children to report any violations of their privacy rights. Overall, the Clean Slate for Kids Online Act of 2023 aims to empower children to take control of their online presence and to ensure that their privacy rights are protected in the digital age. It represents an important step towards safeguarding children's online privacy and promoting a safer and more secure online environment for young users.
