11/26/2024, 12:53 AM
Summary of Bill S 254
The bill proposes several measures to achieve this goal. First, it calls for the establishment of a grant program to provide funding for the construction and improvement of ski hills and related infrastructure. This funding would be available to both public and private entities, with the aim of increasing access to winter sports activities for local residents and tourists alike.
Additionally, the bill includes provisions to streamline the permitting process for ski resort development, in order to reduce regulatory barriers and encourage investment in these projects. It also calls for the creation of a task force to study the economic impact of ski resorts on local communities and make recommendations for further support and development. Overall, the Ski Hill Resources for Economic Development Act of 2023 aims to boost economic growth in rural areas through the expansion of winter sports facilities. By providing funding and regulatory support for ski resort development, the bill seeks to create jobs, attract tourists, and stimulate local economies in regions that rely on winter tourism as a key driver of economic activity.
