12/15/2023, 4:07 PM
Summary of Bill S 1115
The EMS Counts Act of 2023, also known as Bill 118 s 1115, is a piece of legislation currently being considered by the US Congress. The purpose of this bill is to improve the collection and reporting of data related to emergency medical services (EMS) in order to better understand and address the needs of EMS providers and the communities they serve.
The EMS Counts Act of 2023 would require the Department of Health and Human Services to establish a national EMS data collection system. This system would collect information on a variety of factors, including the number of EMS providers, the types of services they provide, and the demographics of the populations they serve. This data would be used to identify trends and disparities in EMS care, as well as to inform policy decisions and resource allocation.
Additionally, the bill would require EMS providers to report certain data to the national system, such as response times, patient outcomes, and the use of specific treatments or interventions. This information would be used to evaluate the quality of EMS care and identify areas for improvement. Overall, the EMS Counts Act of 2023 aims to improve the quality and effectiveness of EMS services by ensuring that accurate and comprehensive data is collected and analyzed. By better understanding the needs of EMS providers and the communities they serve, policymakers can make more informed decisions to support and improve emergency medical services across the country.
