Summary of Bill HR 6590
The PACE program allows property owners to finance these projects through a special assessment on their property tax bill, which can be paid back over a period of time. This bill aims to make the PACE program more accessible and attractive to a wider range of property owners by expanding eligibility criteria and increasing funding for the program.
If passed, the PACE Expanded Act would provide additional resources for state and local governments to administer the program, as well as establish guidelines for the types of projects that can be financed through PACE. The bill also includes provisions to protect consumers and ensure that projects funded through PACE are completed in a timely and efficient manner. Overall, the PACE Expanded Act seeks to promote energy efficiency and renewable energy adoption by making it easier for property owners to finance these projects. It is currently being debated in Congress, and its ultimate fate will depend on the support it receives from lawmakers.
