Summary of Bill HR 3693

Bill 118 hr 3693, also known as the Migrant Relocation Transparency Act, was introduced in the US Congress with the aim of increasing transparency and accountability in the relocation of migrants within the United States. The bill seeks to address concerns about the lack of information available to the public regarding the relocation of migrants, particularly in cases where federal funds are used to support these efforts.

The Migrant Relocation Transparency Act requires the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to provide regular reports to Congress and the public on the number of migrants being relocated, the reasons for their relocation, and the funding sources being used to support these efforts. The bill also mandates that DHS establish a publicly accessible database that tracks the movement of migrants and provides information on their status and location.

Additionally, the bill includes provisions to ensure that migrants are provided with adequate support and resources during the relocation process, including access to legal assistance and medical care. It also requires DHS to consult with state and local governments, as well as non-profit organizations, to ensure that the needs of migrants are being met in a timely and effective manner. Overall, the Migrant Relocation Transparency Act aims to promote greater transparency and accountability in the relocation of migrants, while also ensuring that their rights and well-being are protected throughout the process. The bill has garnered bipartisan support in Congress and is currently under consideration in committee for further review and potential amendments before being brought to a vote.
