GRANTED Act of 2023
2/7/2024, 4:02 PM
Summary of Bill HR 3340
The GRANTED Act of 2023, also known as Bill 118 hr 3340, is a piece of legislation introduced in the US Congress aimed at improving access to federal grants for small businesses and non-profit organizations. The bill seeks to streamline the application process for federal grants by creating a centralized online portal where applicants can submit their proposals.
One of the key provisions of the GRANTED Act is the establishment of a grant application review board, which will be responsible for evaluating grant proposals and making recommendations to federal agencies on which projects should receive funding. This board will be composed of experts in various fields, including business, finance, and non-profit management, to ensure that grant funds are allocated to projects with the greatest potential for success.
Additionally, the bill includes measures to increase transparency and accountability in the grant-making process, such as requiring federal agencies to publish detailed information about grant awards on a publicly accessible website. This will allow taxpayers to see how their money is being spent and hold federal agencies accountable for their grant-making decisions. Overall, the GRANTED Act of 2023 aims to make it easier for small businesses and non-profit organizations to access federal grant funding, while also ensuring that taxpayer dollars are being used effectively and efficiently.
