It requires the US Trade Representative to consult with a wide range of stakeholders, including labor unions, environmental groups, and consumer advocates, before finalizing any trade agreement. The Global Trade Accountability Act also includes measures to ensure that trade agreements are enforced effectively. It establishes a process for monitoring and enforcing compliance with trade agreements, including the ability to impose sanctions on countries that violate the terms of the agreement. Overall, the Global Trade Accountability Act of 2023 aims to promote fair and balanced trade agreements that benefit the American economy and protect American workers. It seeks to increase transparency and accountability in the trade negotiation process, while also ensuring that trade agreements are enforced effectively.
