Summary of Bill HR 2505

Bill 118 HR 2505, also known as the Toxic Health Threat Warning Act of 2023, is a piece of legislation currently being considered by the US Congress. The main purpose of this bill is to address the issue of toxic substances in consumer products and provide consumers with more information about potential health risks.

The bill requires manufacturers of consumer products to include warning labels on any products that contain toxic substances known to pose a health threat. These warning labels must be prominently displayed on the packaging of the product and must clearly state the potential health risks associated with the toxic substances.

Additionally, the bill establishes a database of toxic substances that have been identified as posing a health threat. This database will be maintained by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and will be accessible to the public, allowing consumers to easily access information about the toxic substances in various products. Furthermore, the bill includes provisions for the enforcement of these warning label requirements, including penalties for manufacturers who fail to comply with the regulations. The EPA will be responsible for monitoring and enforcing compliance with the bill's provisions. Overall, the Toxic Health Threat Warning Act of 2023 aims to increase transparency and awareness about toxic substances in consumer products, ultimately empowering consumers to make more informed decisions about the products they purchase.
