Summary of Bill HR 6726
The Congress LEADS Act, also known as Bill 117 hr 6726, is a piece of legislation introduced in the US Congress with the aim of promoting leadership and diversity within the federal workforce. The bill seeks to establish a program that would provide training and mentorship opportunities for employees from underrepresented groups, including women, minorities, and individuals with disabilities.
Under the Congress LEADS Act, federal agencies would be required to develop and implement leadership development programs that specifically target employees from these underrepresented groups. The programs would focus on providing training in areas such as communication, decision-making, and conflict resolution, as well as offering mentorship opportunities with senior leaders within the agency.
Additionally, the bill would require agencies to report on the progress of their leadership development programs, including the number of employees participating and the impact of the programs on their career advancement. This reporting would help to ensure accountability and transparency in the implementation of the Congress LEADS Act. Overall, the Congress LEADS Act aims to address the lack of diversity in leadership positions within the federal government by providing targeted training and mentorship opportunities for employees from underrepresented groups. By promoting leadership development and diversity, the bill seeks to create a more inclusive and representative federal workforce.
