Summary of Bill HR 5201
Bill 117 HR 5201, also known as the Next of Kin Database Act, aims to direct the Secretary of Defense to create and manage a database that holds current contact information for the next of kin of all members of the Armed Forces who fall under the jurisdiction of the Secretaries of the military departments.
The purpose of this database is to ensure that the Department of Defense has accurate and up-to-date contact information for the next of kin of service members in case of emergencies or other critical situations. Overall, the Next of Kin Database Act seeks to improve communication and support for the families of service members by establishing a centralized and reliable system for storing their contact information within the Department of Defense.
