These grants would be awarded to educational institutions, non-profit organizations, and other entities that are working to increase diversity in STEM fields. The bill also calls for the development of outreach programs to encourage women and minorities to pursue STEM careers and provides funding for research on the barriers that these groups face in entering and advancing in STEM fields.
Additionally, the bill includes provisions to improve data collection on the representation of women and minorities in STEM fields, as well as measures to increase transparency and accountability in federal STEM programs. The bill also calls for the creation of a task force to study and make recommendations on how to further promote diversity in STEM fields. Overall, the Women and Minorities in STEM Booster Act of 2021 seeks to address the underrepresentation of women and minorities in STEM fields through targeted grant programs, outreach initiatives, and research efforts. By increasing diversity in STEM fields, the bill aims to ensure that all individuals have equal opportunities to pursue successful careers in these high-demand fields.
