3/11/2025, 8:06 AM

Summary of Bill HR 467

Bill 119 hr 467, also known as the Veterans Access to Medical Services Act, aims to make it easier for veterans to receive medical care outside of their home state. Currently, veterans must have a service-connected disability in order to qualify for this benefit. However, this bill seeks to eliminate that requirement, allowing all veterans to access medical care outside of their state.

The bill proposes amendments to title 38 of the United States Code in order to achieve this goal. By removing the service-connected disability requirement, more veterans will be able to receive the medical care they need, regardless of where they live. This change is intended to improve access to healthcare for veterans and ensure that they receive the treatment they deserve.

In addition to eliminating the service-connected disability requirement, the bill also includes provisions for other purposes related to veterans' medical care. While the specifics of these provisions are not outlined in the summary, it is clear that the overall goal of the bill is to improve access to medical services for veterans. Overall, Bill 119 hr 467 is a significant piece of legislation that aims to make it easier for veterans to receive the medical care they need. By eliminating the service-connected disability requirement for accessing care outside of a state, this bill seeks to improve healthcare access for all veterans.
